Melissa Schultz operates her doula practice Strong Birth Journeys as a birth and postpartum doula. Through the process of birthing and raising her own babies, she realized that providing women with education and support through the process of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum was dear to her heart and her own journey as a doula began. She has now been working as a doula for just over 2 years, is certified as a birth doula through DONA International, and has received additional training through Spinning Babies. She is an enthusiastic cloth diaper educator and an active member of the CSRA Breastfeeding Coalition, a local community group focused on breastfeeding education and support for both mothers and employers. Melissa loves empowering women to make their own informed choices regarding birth and encouraging and assisting women through the postpartum process.
Melissa lives in Augusta, Georgia with her husband, 2 children, and 4 pets. She is an active singer in her community and enjoys excellent choral music and solo classical music. In her downtime, she enjoys reading a good book, watching a movie, or going for a walk.
